Book Refuge aims to make literature more accessible to those who have been made homeless. They do this by opening mini-libraries in homeless shelters and services.

That is why the organisation believes that books are a gateway to making those who have been made homeless feel more human and more a part of society.

By giving them access to books, they are presented with an opportunity to engage their minds in something apart from the difficulties that they face on a regular basis.

*The project was previously known as the Spread The Word Campaign.
